Ben Murray-Bruce, the senator representing Bayelsa East constituency has accused Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed of lying following his statement that the All Progressives Congress would win easily in 2019 since Buhari and the APC have kept their campaign promises.

Lai Mohammed had on Tuesday stated that the 2019 re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government will be very easy owing to fulfilled promises.

He was quoted saying, “Our administration is so confident of re-election in 2019 because of what are being delivered in terms of infrastructure and social welfare.

“The proper and easy ways you can get the electorate to vote for you are by keeping your promises to them, delivering on your promises and embarking on projects which touch their lives.”

However, the minister’s statement did not go down well with some members of Peoples Democratic Party like Senator Ben Bruce and Reno Omokri.

The Bayelsa lawmaker took to his Twitter page countering lai Mohammed , urging him to desist from telling lies during Ramadan.

He wrote “Wow! Can we honestly say this (Our re-election will be easy in 2019 -Lai Mohammed) during the holy month of Ramadan when all the faithful should be truthful?

Similarly, Reno Omokri, the former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan called on Lai Mohammed to stop lying and be truthful to Nigerians.

“Lai Mohammed said Buhari’s re-election in 2019 will be easy because the APC has kept their campaign promises.

“Can someone remind Lai that he is meant to be fasting during Ramadan and that fasting is not just abstaining from food, it includes abstaining from lies! Lai, fear God!!!
