Stop insulting President Jonathan – PDP faction warns Amaechi’s loyalists

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan has warned loyalists of the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, to stop using abusive words on the person and office of Mr. President

The PDP Rivers State Legislators Forum and the Concerned Elders of the PDP in Rivers State said this while addressing newsmen at two different press conferences in Abuja.

The group condemned the attacks on the person of the President and the condemnation of the judiciary by the Chairman of the Rivers State Caucus in the House of Reps, Mr. Asita Honourable, as a result of the court verdict that sacked the state executive committee of the PDP in Rivers.

A former governorship candidate in Rivers, Chief Sergeant Awuse, read the text of the address of the Concerned Elders.

According to him, it was wrong for anybody to use derogatory words on the office of the President because he is the President of Nigeria and not just the PDP.

When contacted, the ousted state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. George Ukwuoma-Nwogba, refused to make comment.

Ukwuoma-Nwogba said since they had filed an appeal in court, it was not necessary to respond to the statements credited to members of the other faction of the party.
