All the 23 Director-Generals of APC Campaign in 2015 across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State have expressed fear that the crisis rocking the party may lead to its doom in 2019 general elections.
Spokesman of the group and Director-General APC Campaign for Kagarko local government area in 2015, Mr. Shunom Adinga, expressed their displeasure over the divide and rule attitude of APC leaders in the state.
While briefing newsmen in Kaduna, Thursday, he explained that the attitude of APC leaders in Kaduna was destroying the party and pitching its supporters against those who convinced them to vote for the party in 2015.
Adinga added that the people are not happy, stressing, “Because this was not what we bargained for when we campaigned for a change of leadership from the PDP to APC party.”
The group lamented that if nothing was done urgently to save the party in the state, another party would take over the state in 2019 election.
“The party can only reclaim its mandate if it goes back to promises made and immediately begin to work for the interest of people of Kaduna State,” he observed.
He emphasized that the executive in the state and the legislators must close ranks and work towards people oriented projects that would give the party brighter chances of retaining its mandate.
“When the elephants fight, it is the grasses that suffer. We urge them to sheath their swords. This is not the change we struggled for in 2015 campaign throughout the local governments and the state in general,” he lamented.
While fielding questions from newsmen, the spokesman admitted being a member of the Akida faction.
“Akida comprises of those that never benefitted in anyway from PDP’s 16 years of leadership in the country since 1999. I was there with CPC and worked for General Muhammadu Buhari and until APC came to power. I am part of those who never benefitted from PDP,” he explained.
