Governor Sule Lamido
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Farouk Aliyu has called on the governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido to stop attacking the personality of the APC presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at political gatherings.
Aliyu, who made the call in an interview with journalists after a fund raising event in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, said, however, that “Governor Lamido has a problem, because some times he talks in support of General Buhari by asking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP supporters to vote for him (Buhari) secretly during the forth coming elections.”
Aliyu is the chairman of the fund raising committee for the Buhari presidential campaign organisation.
According to Aliyu, Lamido openly criticised General Buhari and at the same time he showed support for President Goodluck Jonathan.
“For this, I am assuring you that in Jigawa, Buhari will get over two million votes and Jonathan will get only but one vote, that of Lamido himself.
“General Buhari has never talked about Sule Lamido in anyway, under whatever circumstances. Buhari is not his mate, he is far ahead of Lamido. It is only Lamido that can double talk, criticise even Jonathan he always claimed to be supporting by asking his supporters not to vote for him.”
He said that Nigerians were ready to donate their money to General Buhari because they trust him.
“The money realised from Nigerians through the sale of scratch cards will be used in hiring vehicles for campaigns, payment of agents during election as well as other logistic in support of the party”, he hinted.
According to Aliyu, Governor Lamido was pained by the defection of one of his reps members, representing Birninkudu/Buji federal constituency, Mr Sabo Nakudu, who is now the senatorial candidate of the APC in the Jigawa South-West senatorial zone.
