Spain have reached the Legends World Cup semi-final, after they crushed Nigeria 8-1 in their quarter-final fixture in London on Saturday.

Nigeria were already four goals down, when goalkeeper Peter Rufai went off injured.

He was replaced by Northern Ireland legend, Maik Taylor. But it didn’t stop the ruthless Spaniards from tearing the Super Eagles apart.

Michel Salgado became the competition’s top scorer after netting a hat-trick. Luis Garcia, Alfonso Perez, Carlos Marchena, Gaizka Mendiata and Joan Capdevila also found the back of the net.

Yakubu Aiyegbeni netted the consolation strike for Nigeria, his fourth of the Star Sixes tournament.
