Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has confirmed that he will meet with the two factions of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), on January 20.

NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, has been facing opposition from Chris Giwa since the elections that held in August 2014.

Giwa’s group announced that they would assume office on January 12, but Dalung stepped into the matter and made it clear he will resolve the feud, while warning both parties not to take law into their hands.

“After a comprehensive study of submissions from both sides, I have fixed January 20, 2016 to meet with the leaders of the two groups to resolve the issue,” Dalung said in a statement.

“In the light of the above, the leaders of the two warring groups are hereby advised to refrain from acts capable of jeopardizing the peace process.

“They should therefore maintain calm while the issue is being resolved.

“All should note that any act contrary to my appeal will continue to tarnish the image and integrity of the country and further scare would- be investors from our sports.”

The meeting is scheduled to hold by 8pm.
