Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has laid out his plans to renovate the National Stadium in Lagos and elevate it to one of the best in Africa.

The structure in Surulere, has been left to decay over the years and is now an eyesore.

But speaking to the media in a press briefing to reveal what the new-look stadium will look like, Dalung explained the template for the rehabilitation of the stadium and vowed that the federal government was committed to improving youth developmental programmes.

“We are indeed looking outside the budget for the funding of this project because of the economic situation in the country. This government might not be able to fund the project,” he said.

“We have opened discussion with investors on the possibility of their interest in it. We have a lot of people that have been showing interest in funding the project. So, I think funding is not going to be problem.”
