Mudashiru Obasa Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, has constituted 15-member ad hoc committee to screen Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode’s nominees for appointment into the state Executive Council.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that on Sept. 21, the governor forwarded the list of 36 nominees to the Assembly for screening and approval as commissioners and special advisers.

Twenty three of the nominees were to be appointed as commissioners, while 13 were to be appointed as Special Advisers to the governor.

Obasa announced the names of members of the committee on Tuesday during the plenary.

He urged them to thoroughly screen the nominees and ensure that only the best hands were appointed to assist the governor in running the affairs of the state.

A member of the committee, Mr Segun Olulade (APC-Epe 2) told NAN they would ensure that only qualified people were appointed.

The House later adjourned plenary to Oct. 13, when the committee is expected to submit its report. (NAN)
