Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has spoken on the performance of his first-choice goalkeeper, David De Gea in Spain’s 3-3 draw with Portugal on Friday night.
De Gea put in a jittery display against the former world champions and was particularly at fault for Cristiano Ronaldo’s second goal, which put Portugal 2-1 up.
Mourinho has sympathized with the stopper and said even the best makes mistakes.
“He’s my boy, it hurts me to say but he knows it’s a bad mistake.
“It’s a mistake he doesn’t make with us, United – player of the season, fantastic performances. But that happens to the best,” Mourinho said after the game.
Ronaldo netted a hat-trick, to ensure his side avoided defeat in their first game of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
