A 24-hour-curfew has been imposed on Jema’a and Kaura local government areas of Kaduna State following renewed killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Southern Kaduna.
A statement issued by Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to governor El-Rufai said the Kaduna Security Council has imposed 24-Hour curfew in the two local government areas during its security council meeting.
The statement explained, “The Kaduna State Security Council has imposed a 24 hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas of Kaduna State with immediate effect.
“The action became necessary to protect lives and property and avoid the further breakdown of law and order in the two Local Government Areas.
“All security agencies on Special Operation in the two Local Government Areas have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
“Only essential workers and those on humanitarian services are allowed movement after due clearance by security agencies.”
