Following ongoing humanitarian crisis in Southern Kaduna over the ongoing attacks in the area by alleged Fulani herdsmen, a popular non-governmental organization, Caleb Danladi Foundation has stepped in to solve some of the humanitarian crisis in the area through the distribution of food and other items to the devastated Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.
The humanitarian intervention which took place on Saturday, March 11, 2017 saw many IDPs at Bankin Kogi of Kaninkon Chiefdom in Jema’a LGA, celebrating after they were supported with items ranging from bags of rice, maize, oil, buckets, clothing and many other materials.
While commending CDF founder, Mr Caleb Danladi Bako, the IPDs said he had wiped their tears with his gesture, thanking him and his team for thinking about them in their time of need. They prayed that for remembering them, Danladi will have cause to celebrate more successful years.
Addressing journalists shortly after items had been distributed; Mr Danladi explained that the intervention was imperative considering the number of people who had been rendered homeless in the area. He said it would have been wrong for his foundation to look the other way when some persons were struggling to survive after they had been displaced from their homes by some marauders.
Mr Danladi said, ‘’This is what my foundation has been called to do. We can’t look elsewhere at this trying time for our people. The pain of someone – somewhere should be our headache. This is why we should show our support no matter the current economic challenges, and pray our brothers and sisters who are now refugees in their own state return home as soon as possible.
Advising both the State and the Federal Government to expedite action on the permanent return of peace to the troubled Southern Kaduna, Mr Danladi said, ‘’ there is nothing as important as a man’s freedom, peace and security. I urge both the State and the Federal Government to expedite action towards putting an end to this crisis so people can return to freedom,’’ he said.
Recall that Caleb Danladi Foundation was established for the purpose of reaching the most vulnerable persons in the society, to improve the living standard of the less privilege in the society. The foundation has been raising funds and running programs that focus on empowering widows, assisting orphans who need education and entrepreneurship skills to better their future, offering of charitable and humanitarian assistance to elderly, physically challenged, poor children and victims of disaster, community and rural development.
