Muslims in South-West under the umbrella of Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) have applauded the military and President Muhammadu Buhari over the return of another 82 students of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok Borno State, abducted in April 2014.
MUSWEN observed that the battle against insurgency in the North-Eastern part of the country had been largely won by the concerted efforts of security agencies, especially the military and the Federal Government.
In a communique signed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital at the end of its 3rd General Assembly on Sunday by Professor Daud Noibi and Alhaji (Dr.) S.O. Babalola, Executive Secretary and President, respectively, MUSWEN, however, urged the Federal Government to intensify efforts on the social investment programme which if well managed would help improve the economic wellbeing of the citizens.
The organization prayed for the souls of some departed Muslim leaders among who are Senator Isiaka Adeleke, the first Civilian Governor of the State of Osun and Dr. Abbas Aidi of Ondo State.
“That the battle against the insurgency in the North-Eastern part of the country has been largely won, as peace has gradually returned to the region while more Chibok girls have been rescued.
“That the Federal Government should intensify efforts on the social investment programme which if well managed would help improve the economic wellbeing of the citizens.

The Muslim body then urged for more prayers for President Buhari to succeed.
