South-South community in FCT pledges support to Buhari

The South-South community in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, yesterday pledged to support the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) when he assumes office come May 29.

The group, which stated this while reviewing the March 28 presidential and National Assembly elections, stressed that the antecedents of Buhari in the area of probity would help Nigeria attain greatness.

Leader of the South-South community who is a former Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Mr. Lawrence Alobi said: “Your overwhelming victory at this time in our political history as a nation confirms the statement that nothing can stop the voice of millions of people calling for change.

“We members of South-South Community, FCT, Abuja, are proud to identify with you and we pledge our unalloyed support and loyalty as you take over the leadership mantle of our great country come May 29, 2015,” he said.

Alobi further described Buhari’s victory as “A milestone that signalizes the coming of age of the entire people of Nigeria. Hence we look forward to your administration with renewed hope and optimism.”
