The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on Thursday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, raided no fewer than five warehouses and confiscated 951 cartons of various brands of lubricants in the state.

Acting State coordinator of SON in Oyo State, Mr Muhammad Sani, who led some officials of the organisation in the raid, also raised alarm over the circulation of substandard lubricants in the state.

Sani called on residents, distributors and other stakeholders to be conscious of those products in circulation.

The operation ended with the affected warehouses sealed.

Sani, speaking after the operation, said the organisation would not fold its arms and allow some elements to turn the Nigerian market to a substandard avenue.

He then called on businessmen and manufacturers to comply with the standard and production guidelines as provided by SON.
