Some soldiers were killed Thursday night at a checkpoint near a military barracks in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, after a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber hit a road block.
The blast occurred while military personnel stopped to search the vehicle, a Volkswagen Sharon car.
The attack came about two hours after the popular Jimeta Market in Adamawa was bombed.
Boko Haram had also struck on Wednesday at a crowded commercial area in Maiduguri.
The location of the Thursday’s attack on soldiers was 2km away from the location of Wednesday’s attack.
