The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commission, REC, in Sokoto State, Abubakar Sadiq, has disclosed what he would do if forced to alter Saturday’s election results in the state.

Sadiq disclosed that he was ready to sacrifice himself by resigning his appointment if forced to change the outcome of Saturday’s elections in the state.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Sokoto on Wednesday, Sadiq said he was ready to conduct a free and fair election in the state, warning that nobody can force him to alter the results of the elections.

He said, “I will resign and I will tell the world why I am resigning. My job here is to do the bidding of the entire people of Sokoto state not a particular individual.”

He also appealed to security agencies to remain committed to the election because there were some security challenges recorded in parts of the state during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
