A Lagos State Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a 19-year-old man, Akinola Samuel, in prison custody for allegedly defiling an unnamed four-year-old boy.
The accused, who is a student residing in 13, Shore Close, Agege, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge bordering on defilement.
According to the prosecutor, Cpl. Bimbo Oluwateru, the offences were committed on December 22, 2015 at the residence of the accused.
Oluwateru said that the accused, who resides in the same house with the victim, called him to his room, removed his boxer pant and defiled him through the anus, adding that “thereafter, the victim was feeling the pain, he then told his mother and the accused was apprehended.” The offences, the prosecutor noted, contravened Sections 134, 259 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, ordered that the accused be remanded at the Kirikiri Prison, adjourning the case till January 13, 2016.
