Former Nigeria international, Sam Sodje, has said football fans in the country should not expect much from the Dream Team VI, after they failed to travel to Brazil again.
Samson Siasia and his squad are still at their training base in Atlanta, USA, with their first game at the Olympics on Friday.
“I am surprised that a team who will play their opening game of the Olympics on Friday are still in USA,” Sodje told AfricanFootball.
“This team have not been well treated by authorities and Nigerians should not expect miracle from the team that doesn’t have the best of preparation and no motivation.
“The FA keep saying no money, they owe coaches and no allowances for the players. The NFF have no clue, claiming no money to cater for players and coaches, but have money to host FIFA president while pretending everything is good.”
Officials are still hoping to get a chartered flight, which will convey them to Manaus in Brazil, where they play their first two matches against Japan and Sweden.
