Members of the Super Eagles and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), are currently locked in a bonus dispute, which has left the team in danger of missing out on the Confederations Cup, which kicks of this weekend in Brazil.

After Nigeria emerged African champions at the Africa Cup of Nations this year, the NFF decided to slash team bonuses by half to $5,000, while also cutting down on backroom staff, as they tried to manage their poor finances.

However, after the 1-1 draw against Namibia on Wednesday, the players rejected the reduced bonuses and are threatening not to leave for Brazil.

It is understood that the players refused to go to the airport and NFF president Aminu Maigari, is not backing down either.
