The two brothers, Vavavoom (Tumininu) and Peeshaun (Atewologun, who make up the hip hop group, Skuki, have confirmed plans to release their own brand of contraceptives into the Nigerian market.
In a time when teenage pregnancy and STD prevalence has become the order of the day, they say it’s their own way of giving back to the society and preaching about sex education to teenagers.
“We are great believers in the fact that the youth are the leaders of tomorrow and have to learn from a young age that if you can’t abstain, you have to play safe. But not only that, we are looking at it from the concept of family planning, of teenage pregnancies and putting a stop to it,” they said.
“Every pregnant teenager in our society is another teenager that has to stop schooling in order to handle the situation they find themselves in. It goes way more than just the condom and sex part.”
