Head coach of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has dropped a hint that Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa and Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, may be on the plane to Rio next year for the Olympic Games.
Three over-aged players are allowed per team at the tournament and Siasia is already assessing his options.
Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi, has already indicated his interest in featuring for Nigeria. But Siasia is keen to call up players who are playing regularly for their clubs.
“I’m still undecided on the areas that the overage players would be needed, but I’m happy that the likes of Ighalo (Odion), (Ahmed) Musa, are in top form now and I hope they will sustain it until the Olympics,” he said on a television programme.
The Olympics will be staged in August 2016.
