Head coach of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has dropped Victor Osimhen from the 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Olympics.
The 17-year-old who is set to sign professional terms with Wolfsburg, has been left out so he can focus on the upcoming CAF U-20 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan in July.
Siasia’s decision has been taken, so he does not have to confront Flying Eagles coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, who is banking on the striker for the matches.
Osimhen was a last-minute replacement for Isaac Success for last year’s CAF U-23 AFCON in Senegal and played in a 1-0 friendly win over Brazil.
