Nigeria U-23 coach, Samson Siasia and former Super Eagles handler, Shuaibu Amodu, are the early front runners to replace Sunday Oliseh, who resigned as coach of the national team on Friday.
It is understood that the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), earlier this month recommended that Oliseh should be sacked and Siasia appointed as interim manager.
Siasia had a brief stint as Eagles coach between 2010 and 2011 and was fired after he failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The committee, which is headed by Barrister Chris Green, will meet today and deliberate on who should take over the team.
Amodu might yet be handed the role, as he has helped Nigeria qualify for the 2002 and 2014 World Cups and is currently a technical director with the NFF.
