Shoprite to spend $205 million on new Nigerian outlets

According to Whitey Basson, Shoprite has budgeted up to $205million, on acquiring new locations for their shopping malls, in Nigeria. The chief executive of Africa’s top retailer, made this know after the company’s full-year results.

Shoprite already has outlets in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Kwara states, but are ramping up efforts on sub-Saharan expansion. And it is no surprise they have targeted the populous West African nation, as one of the key locations.
