“Shola Ameobi will not go for the African Nations Cup” – Pardew

Alan Pardew has said that Shola Ameobi, will not be available to play for Nigeria at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in South Africaa.

The Newcastle United manager, did not give any specific reasons why the striker might not be at the continental tournament, but he confirmed that the coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, was aware.

“Shola won’t be going,” he said. “The national team manager knows the reasons, which I am keeping to myself.”

Ameobi, who has played all his career with the Magpies, was included in Keshi’s 32-man list, ahead of the competition which kicks off on January 19.
