Following last Saturday skirmishes between Shiites members and the Nigerian Army in Kaduna state where it was alleged that Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Buratai Tukur escaped an assassination attempt, the Senate on Wednesday set up an investigation panel with members drawn from the ad-hoc committees on Defence, Judiciary and National Security and Intelligence to unravel circumstances behind the incidence.
The Upper Chamber’s decision was announced after a closed-door session that lasted almost an hour.
Reports have it that the Islamic Sect leader, El zakizarky is currently being held in custody by the Nigerian Army.
