Abbas Ishaq, a member of the Islamic Movement, who lost his life as a result of the clash between his group and the Nigerian Army in Zaria last December has been buried.
He was buried in Tudun Wada Kaduna cemetery on Friday.
Ishaq was until his demise among those awaiting trial in Kaduna prison.
The 49-year-old man was arrested in Sheikh Zakzaky’s house and died two weeks after he and other members of the Islamic Movement were detained in Kaduna central prison.
DAILY POST gathered that after much persuasion, the Hospital where his corpse was stored released him for proper Islamic burial today.
Doctors of the Islamic Movement attributed the cause of his death to inadequate care in the prison custody.
The deceased, who hailed from of Danja area of Katsina state, but lived in Kawo Kaduna was, survived a wife and a child.
A statement made available to DAILY POST by the movement claimed that there was still another corpse yet to be released to the Islamic Movement for burial.
The group gave the name of the victim as Idris Khalid.
“Efforts are still going on for its release for burial. Abbas is the only person released by the authorities for Islamic burials, even though there are over a thousand unarmed people gunned down by the military during the Zaria massacre,” it added.
