Shettima visits family of late Borno Police Commissioner in Lafia


Governor Kashim Shettima was on Tuesday in Lafia, capital of Nasarawa State to meet relatives of Late Mr Clement Adadu who until his recent death, was Commissioner of Police, Borno command.

‎Governor Shettima in company of the Speaker, Borno State House of Assembly, some National and State Assembly members, his chief of staff, some commissioners and a security chief in one of the paramilitary commands in Borno State, paid the condolence visit.

Adoda died a week ago after a protracted illness. He died at a hospital in Abuja.

‎Shettima was received by ‎Professor Mohammed Ada, brother to late Police Commissioner and paramount ruler of Ikobi community in APA LGA of Benue State.

Prof Ada thanked Shettima for what he described as “the Governor’s frantic efforts, deploying everything humanly possible to save the life of the late CP while he was ill”.

Ada didn’t specify the kind of help received but he indicated that he was aware of support provided by the Governor to ensure Adoda survived the illness.

He said the bereaved family was full of gratitude to Governor Shettima not just for the support but for also proving kindness by traveling all the way from Maiduguri to visit the family and support time at their trying moment.

Speaking to the family, Governor Shettima described the late CP as a thorough professional who was very competent and disciplined.

He also said he respected the CP for being apolitical through out the electioneering period.

Shettima noted that the late Adoda has left a good legacy in Borno State. Shettima described the CP’s demise as a loss to Borno and its good people noting that the works of the deceased contributed so much in ongoing counter insurgency operations across Borno State.‎

The Governor pledged to stand by the family through its darkest moments in memory of the late CP.

‎Adoda was a native of Ikobi in Apa Local GovernmentAreas of Benue State.
