Shettima
Governor Kashim Shettima, yesterday renamed Hausari Model Primary School after the late Alhaji Dr. Mala Kachalla (the fourth Executive Governor of Borno State) in a colourful event attended by family, friends, relatives and political associates of the late Governor.
With the development, the school will be known as Mala Kachallah Memorial Primary School.
The event which was organized by the Committee on Resuscitation of Primary and Junior Secondary Schools in Borno State, headed by Dr. Muhammad El-Nur Dongel had in attendance the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-kanemi.
In his welcome address, Dr. Dongel said that the school was remodelled by the late Governor in 2003 but it was since abandoned.
He disclosed that the committee renovated the school in order to create conducive learning atmosphere for both teachers and pupils.
Speaking, Kashima emphasized the virtues of late Mala, describing him as a person of good leadership qualities.
Engr. Ibrahim M. Ali who spoke on behalf of the family of the late Governor thanked Shettima for the immortalizing the deceased.
He said the honour was the best thing that has ever happen to the family since the demise of Mala.
The Governor used the occasion to launch the distribution of free uniforms, furniture and scanners for schools.
A special prayer was offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased Governor.
