Borno State Government has approved the release of the sum of 3 Billion Naira from the bail out fund and Paris Club fund for the immediate payment of outstanding benefits of state workers.
The approval was disclosed on Monday, during a joint Press Briefing by the Head of Service, Borno State, Barr. Yakubu Bukar and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Usman Zanah.
The breakdown of the funds includes: the sum of N817,737,058.000 for payment of 2016 Leave Grants to all state civil servants, the sum of N1 Billion Naira for payment of outstanding arrears of gratuity to state pensioners, and the sum of 50 Million Naira for arrears of pensioners.
Zannah assured pensioners that government will continue to release funds towards the payment of pension and gratuity to both deceased and living pensioners for local government staff in the state.
