Sheriff’s emergence as PDP Chairman will boost party’s repositioning drive — PDP Lawmaker

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Segun Adekola, has pointed out that the emergence of former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was a major boost towards the growth and revival of the party.

The PDP lawmaker representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency II in a statement in Ado Ekiti, enjoined aggrieved party members to form a formidable force towards reclaiming power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2019.

According to Adekola, “It is only through a clean, clear and steadfast spirit of unity and oneness that the task ahead can be successful, hence the need for the new Chairman to work hard in this regard”.

“What is important in PDP now is a collective rescue mission with all hands on deck towards the actualization and rejuvenation of the party to regain its lost glory.

“The onus of the preparations rests mainly on the leadership of the PDP especially the national Chairman.

“Alhaji Sheriff must be allowed to swing into action and bring everybody together through holistic and pragmatic reconciliation and mobilisation of party members across the country”.

The lawmaker tasked the party to start its rebuilding process now in order to return to power in 2019.

He appealed to aggrieved party members who are not satisfied with the nomination of Sheriff to sheathe their swords in the interest of the party and the nation.
