Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central has reacted to Senator Dino Melaye’s submission to the Nigeria Police
Senator Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial district, on Friday finally surrendered to the police after eight-day siege on his Abuja residence.
An Abuja High Court had on Thursday, refused an ex-parte application brought by Melaye to order the removal of police blockage on his residence.
DAILY POST reported that the embattled Senator and his colleagues, who came to his residence to show solitary, headed out to the police headquarters as of the time of filing this report.
Speaking on the development, Sani took to his Twitter page, urging the police to treat Melaye with dignity while in custody.
The Kaduna lawmaker urged the Police to respect fundamental human rights of Melaye.
Sani wrote: “Distinguished Senator Dino should be treated with dignity and honour and his fundamental rights respected, now that he has reportedly turned himself up to the Police.”
