Former Dean of Agricultural Mechanization, Kaduna Polytechnic, Elder Uzowulu Azubuike has dismissed as untrue allegations that Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district forged his school certificates.

In an exclusive interview with DAILY POST, Uzowulu who was the first head of department and Dean, School of agricultural mechanization between 1988/89 explained that he personally took Sani’s Higher National Diploma academic performance file to the school Council for approval.

He noted that Sani was a brilliant student at the time with traits of activism, hence, he was popular and that nobody among his set could pretend of not knowing him.

Azubuike added that he could not call to memory his academic grade, saying records were available at the Polytechnic for further inquiries.

“I cannot recollect precisely his Higher National Diploma grade. You know it was between 1988/89 and that is about 28 years ago. The school should have that record”, he said.

He added: “the school of agricultural mechanization as at then has changed to agricultural engineering now”.

He also said, the former Rector of the School, Dr. A. T. Abdullahi, an indegene of Jigawa state who left to become the Executive Secretary of NABTEC at a time could testify that Sani graduated.

Findings by DAILY POST from former Principal of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger state, Mallam Ahmed Ibrahim confirmed that he wrote his WAEC in 1984.

A group known as Kaduna Central Peoples Forum at a press briefing in Kaduna had called for prosecution of Sani over alleged perjury.
