Shehu Sani, immediate past Senator representing Kaduna Central has revealed those to determine the federal government’s Ruga settlement plan.
DAILY POST reports that Ruga settlements are conceived by the federal government to address the incessant clashes between farmers and herders in the country.
Speaking on the development, Sani on his Twitter page said State Governors and the Federal government had no right to decide and establish Ruga in communities.
According to him, the sole decision should be taken by host communities involved.
Sani wrote: “To establish Ruga in a hostile environment is like throwing Butter into a Pan of Hot oil.
“The viability of Ruga is dependent on its acceptance by the host communities and not by FG’s unilateralism or by its approval or objections by the state Governors.”
Meanwhile, Niger State government on Monday said the Northern states have the potentials to accommodate the federal government’s Ruga settlement plan.
