Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the re-introduction of toll gates across Nigeria by the Buhari-led Government.
The government of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo had scrapped tolls on federal roads in 2004.
While stating reasons toll gates should be re-introduced, Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works, told State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday that there is no law against toll plazas.
Sani, who didn’t seem to like the new plan by the Federal Government, took to his twitter handle on Thursday to react.
He said “Where you have potholes and toll gates, it is called ‘pot gate.’
”Where you have kidnapping and toll gates, it is called ransom gates.”
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also rejected plans by President Muhammadu Buhari to return toll gates on highways in the country.
