Shehu Sani reacts to NBS report on unemployment rate, attacks APC, PDP

The Senator representing Kaduna Central district at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has reacted to latest reports by Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

In a press statement on Thursday, the NBS released Nigeria’s latest Labour Force Statistics, saying the number of unemployed Nigerians has hit 21 million.

This came days after the Buhari administration said the Agriculture sector alone has employed 12million people in 2 years.

Sani, reacting on Sunday, commended NBS for doing a great job and providing Nigerians with useful statistics.

According to the lawmaker, the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would have been importing figures from ‘China’ if not for NBS.

He also pointed out the that All Progressives Congress, APC, would also have inflated their figures too.

Sami tweeted: “NBS has been doing a good job, keeping Nigerians informed with useful statistics.

“Without the NBS,the main opposition could have been importing figures from China in containers and the ruling party could have been locally milling, bagging & churning their figures along with rice.”
