A former Chairman of Minna branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Taidi Jonathan, has commended Presidnt Muhammadu Buhari over the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal.
Speaking with newsmen, on Thursday in Minna, Jonathan said Lawal’s suspension would add “credibility to the ongoing fight against corruption in the country.”
The former NBA chairman stated that the step taken by Buhari would send strong signals on his unwavering stance against corruption and commitment towards good governance.
Calling on state governments in the country to take the issue of corruption seriously by sanitising their administration, Jonathan pointed out that only such step would ensure good governance and development in the country.
Recall that the President had on Wednesday ordered the suspension of the SGF alongside the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency NIA, Ayo Oke.
