Seychelles thrashed 3-0 by Ethiopia’s U-23 team ahead of Super Eagles’ clash

Seychelles rounded off their preparation for Friday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria, with a 3-0 defeat to Ethiopia’s U-23 team on Tuesday.

The Coach Gavin Jeanne-tutored side lost back-to-back friendly matches against the same side.

Three days prior, they lost 1-0 and a rematch was arranged, with Jeanne making a few adjustments.

However, this apparently made it worse, as they were trounced 3-0.

Jeanne blamed his team’s loss on poor officiating and the sending off of Perry Monnaie and Don Fanchette in the opening half hour, which forced the side to play with nine men for most of the game.

“We played a bit better but it was not a fair game as two of our opponents’ goals should never have stood as the official was biased and we had two players sent off and we also struggled with the altitude,” he told the media

The Seychelles team will complete their training in Ethiopia on Wednesday, before heading to Nigeria.

The small island country occupy the last position in Group E with just one point from five matches.
