Seychelles head coach, Gavin Jeanne, has praised his players despite their 3-O home defeat to Nigeria, in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Victoria.

The defeat to the Super Eagles was the Pirates’ second in Group E, following their Match Day One 5-1 humiliation at the hands of Libya.

Ahmed Musa, Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo were all on target for Nigeria in the game.

“I really appreciate the efforts of the players in a very tough match where we tried to stay compact and avoid conceding in the first half.

“We could not keep them at bay though we had a go at them in the second period. I must congratulate our supporters who were really behind the team and also the players who gave their maximum,” Jeanne told reporters after the game.
