Sevilla reveal why Arsenal target N’Zonzi travelled to London

Sevilla have insisted that Steven N’Zonzi did not travel to London to negotiate a move away from the La Liga.

They have speculations around N’Zonzi’s future, with the former Blackburn midfielder linked with Arsenal and Everton.

The 28-year-old arrived in London on Tuesday and has not featured for Sevilla since being substituted at half-time, during the 3-3 Champions League comeback draw with Liverpool last month.

N’Zonzi reportedly left the stadium after a row with manager, Eduardo Berizzo.

However, the Spanish club insist the Frenchman’s trip to the English capital has been with their permission, in order to visit family.

“His situation is due to a technical issue with the coaches and as with all the technical issues, he can change it,” said Sevilla chairman Jose Castro.

“He has travelled to London to visit his son with our permission.

“There aren’t any offers to sign N’Zonzi. I can’t talk about clauses or prices if we don’t have an offer.

“We respect the decision of our coaches, he is training with their mates but currently he isn’t playing.”
