The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has alerted of imminent flood in seven local government area of Sokoto State this rainy-season.
Mr Bashir Suleiman, the Sokoto Zonal Coordinator stated this in a statement on Saturday.
He disclosed that the local governments which would be affected by flooding were Kware, Gwadabawa, Wamakko, Sabon-Birnmi, Silame, Dange/Shuni and Tureta.
The statement, therefore, urged all the relevant emergency management agencies in the state to be on red alert.
“This is with the view to taking the necessary precautionary measures in the event of the occurrence of the unexpected,” he added.
