Seri agrees four-year deal with Barcelona

Nice midfielder, Jean-Michael Seri, has agreed a four-year contract with Barcelona.

L’Equipe reports that the Ivorian is very close to making the switch to the Camp Nou, after agreeing terms with the La Liga giants.

Barcelona have turned to Seri after getting frustrated in their attempts to sign Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele and are due to open talks with Nice on Monday about a €40million deal.

Coach Ernesto Valverde is desperate to bolster their squad, following the departure of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record move.

Seri was a stand-out player in Ligue 1 last season, as his team qualified for the Champions League. The 26-year-old is seen as a deeper lying midfielder.

Spanish publication, Mundo Deportivo, last week reported the imminent arrival of Seri “in no case dismisses the arrival of Coutinho. On the contrary, they are considered complementary players, since they are different players, and the intention of the club is to have both in the squad.”
