Sergeant slumps and dies at Police College in Ikeja

There was pandemonium at the ongoing promotional examination of policemen to the rank of Sergeant and Inspector, at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday after a Police Sergeant attached to the Oyo State Police Command slumped and died.

The Sergeant was identified as Lekan and was to be promoted to the rank of Inspector before the sad incident.

A police Sergeant on Inspectors’ Promotion Course at the Police College Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday 15th October, slumped and died.

Three days before Lekan’s death, another officer, Samuel Jinadu, a Superintendent of Police (SP) who is also the college spokesman, died after being ill for a while.

A reliable source who witnessed the incident but craved anonymity said the sergeant slumped and died around 12 noon.

Report says his remains has been taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja for autopsy.
