Algeria captain, Riyad Mahrez has admitted that his side’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final clash against Sadio Mane-led Senegal will be ‘tough’.
Algeria will on Friday night tackle Senegal in this year’s AFCON final at the Cairo International Stadium, but the Manchester City winger is wary of Aliou Cissé’s side despite beating them 1-0 in the 2019 AFCON group stage.
The Desert Foxes head to the game after defeating Nigeria’s Super Eagles 2-1 in the semi-final encounter last week Sunday, while Senegal defeated Tunisia 1-0.
Speaking ahead of Algeria’s clash against Senegal, Mahrez was quoted by Brila FM as saying: “We played Senegal in the group stages and we know they are a very good team. It will be a tough final.
“Always even if it is another team finals are always tough. But for Senegal, we know their strengths and weaknesses and we will go to give them a good game – We are in the final after 29 years.”
The kick-off time for the match is 8pm.
