Senator Orji not interfering in Ikpeazu’s government – PDP Chieftain, Ukandu

A former local government Chairman in Abia State and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu on Wednesday stated that former Governor Theodore Orji is not interfering in the governance of the State.

Ukandu, who is a close associate of the former Governor, made this known at a press conference in Umuahia on Wednesday.

He said Senator Orji’s main focus had always been on making laws that would impacts on the lives of his constituents, describing the alleged interference of the senator in Abia affairs as mere speculation from unscrupulous elements.

He said, “all these are rumour. I don’t live on rumours. It is very clear today to all Abians and discerning minds that T.A Orji is a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He doesn’t stay in Abia state.

“So, anybody making such an insinuation, to me is doing so out of mischief or to give a dog a bad name.

“Senator Orji is not interfering in the affairs of the present government in the state. He is not a commissioner. He is not in Abia state. His interest is minding what is happening in the National Assembly. You can see him coming up with motions in the senate that have translated to bills. That is his interest.

“I don’t see his interest in the governance of Abia state or how it is being managed. He has quietly done his own for eight years. And his achievements are there to see despite all propaganda against him.

“Orji has made his marks, no matter what anybody says. Also, despite all propaganda, his achievements are there to speak for him.”
