The Senate,Thursday, passed into law, a Bill for an Act to amend the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Act 2016.

After the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFUND, Senator Jibril Barau laid the report, the Senate unanimously passed the amendment Bill.

In his ruling, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki said the amended Act shall be “a great relief for both students and parents as it will reduce their financial and psychological burdens”.

The Act among other things, supports that JAMB applicants who could not gain admission into their institution of choice for the examination year could be offered admission the following year with the same JAMB result, but not exceeding a period of 3 years.
