Senate confirms Tukur as new financial intelligence Director

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Modibbo Hamman Tukur as the Director of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).

President Muhammadu Buhari had nominated Tukur as the director of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit on January 7 in accordance with the provision of Section 5(1) of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) Act 2018.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki while congratulating Tukur on Wednesday urged him to be professional in his duties.

Tukur, from Adamama State, is a holder of Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Business.

He is currently an Assistant Director in the NFIU and has vast international experience in illegal assets recovery.
