A security guard, Adamu Asaph , was on Tuesday docked in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing two packets of condom.
Asaph, 27, of Manufacturer Delivery Services, Idu Yard, Abuja, was arraigned on a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Mr Dalhatu Zannah, told the court that one Ayanwale Saheel of MDS Logistics Company, Idu Industrial Yard, Abuja, reported the matter on Aug. 15 at Life Camp Police Station.
Zannah alleged that on Aug. 5, one Paul Marcus of the same address, caught Asaph stealing two packets of condom valued at N 3,000.
He said the condoms are the property of Society for Family Health, but kept in the custody of the company.
The prosecutor alleged that the accused stole the condom and hid it in the company’s warehouse before it was recovered.
He said that the offence contravened Section 287of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused bail in the sum of N2, 000 and a surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Sept. 5 for hearing. (NAN)
