SDP suspends Kogi chairman over alleged misconduct, insubordination

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Friday suspended the Chairman of Kogi State Chapter of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Amodu for alleged gross misconduct and insubordination.

The letter of suspension signed by the National Secretary of the SDP, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam stated that the NWC has also directed the suspended chairman to relinquish the party’s office and its affairs to the state’s National Secretary, Bar. Paul Abraham who now assumes the position of acting chairman of the state chapter of the SDP, with immediate effect.

According to the letter, the suspension became pertinent to give room for proper investigations of the alleged unbecoming attitudes of the former Kogi state SDP chairman which totally negates the core values of the party.

The letter dated 4th October 2018 and entitled, ‘Suspension From Office’ reads in full: “The National Working Committee (NWC) has been apprised of your alleged unruly behaviours and gross insubordination. The attitude is inconsistent with the core values of our great party.

“Consequently, the NCW has decided to suspend you as Chairman, Kogi State Chapter of SDP with immediate effect, pending investigation and further action by the NWC.

“In the interim, you are hereby directed to hand over the party office and its affairs to the state secretary.”
