Several persons were on Monday roasted beyond recognition and others injured in a gas explosion that occurred in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred Monday afternoon at the popular Natson gas station.
Sources attributed the incident to gas leakage.
Vehicles, shops and offices were completely razed by the inferno.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) and fire service evacuated victims from the scene of the incident.
The injured were said to be receiving treatment at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, while the number of casualties is yet to be known.
Meanwhile, the state government has ordered the evacuation of all affected persons to the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, for treatment as the facilities at Dalhatu Araf were not enough to accommodate them.
Some of the victims were taken to the National Hospital, Abuja.
